Hi Jemiaya Jones, I attended k-12 Alabama Virtual Academy Eufaula, Alabama starting 7th grade I was being bullied so bad in school I had to start going to mental health and taking medication, My mom took me out of brick school and started me online with k-12 I was also in special education but they enrolled me in there as well. It was real hard at first my work was piling up to fast it was too much at once and you had to stay focus my grades was Ds and Fs and at the school I was attending slowly but surely I started coming up to Cs Bs and As. I graduated with all As thanks to my mom May 18, 2023. I am one truly happy person my IEP want end until 2024 but I'm done thank God.
Alabama Virtual Academy at Eufaula City Schools creates a strong engaging and encouraging environment that fosters academic excellence, positivity, and college-bound and real-world preparation. The principals, teachers, guidance counselors, and support staff prepare and guide students on how to transition into college and/or a career path after high school. As a high school student, I was afforded the opportunity to become a dual enrolled student. I was fortunate to strive for a 2-year degree of my choice and transition into a 4-year college with transferable course credit hours. On another note, ALVA has virtual and in-person field trips, social groups and clubs, E-sports, National Honor Society, an annual yearbook (when possible), an annual expo event, an annual in-person prom, and virtual and in-person graduations. Overall, I love my experience with Alabama Virtual Academy.
I love this school! ALVA is a great experience, the teachers are great at their jobs and are very supportive. I have had a wonderful time at ALVA. The work is challenging yet not so difficult you can't complete it. I have learned valuable skills such as time management, having to create my own school with schedule around my required live sessions, and I have learned the importance of doing your work on time. I have been to many schools, but the best school I have ever been to is ALVA.
