This school isn’t for the faint of heart. It requires hard work and parental involvement. It’s true that they don’t have lots of extracurricular activities, but that’s not what you’re there for. This is a high school that has THE BEST STAFF, that invests in your child to be the best they can be! If you do the work, stay on track, and keep out of trouble your child can earn an Associates Degree along with their high school diploma. This is the best school! The teachers and staff are wonderful, caring, supportive, and very dedicated, they truly want to see your child succeed!

Everyone is pretty much smart so there's always a challenge and the pressure to get to the top. there are no fights and not much drama within the school which is great. BUT there are no sports or fine art programs. There aren't any clubs (there's a running club but that's during the summer break and you have to be part of the marathon). The school is not connected! if you are a freshman you will never really know a junior or senior. there is no Band, Orchestra or choir. There are no fun classes. There is no "high school experience" which is great at times but at other times you feel like you are missing something. the great thing though is the associate degree! Akron Early College is very hard so expect to get a lot of C's.
Great School! Received over 50 college credit hours there, so worth it if you want to save a little bit of money. Requires application, but it is well worth it if you manage to get in. Teachers are nice and will help you if needed, everyone's relatively nice, and they get you prepared for college very well! Would highly recommend
