Airport High is school to many amazing individuals. It is a school that allows opportunity for all students. My overall experience at Airport is the best! The teachers are all champions to us. They always put their all in everything to ensure their student's success. Aside from academics, Airport houses nationally recognized ROTC, award-winning Special Olympics, an amazing athletics department, and an ever excelling student council. The school spirit is amazing, staff and administration work hard to ensure that every students that walks through those halls feel like they belong.

For the four years that I was at Airport High School it was a wild experience. The teachers are wonderful, at least the ones I had, were extraordinary. However the students and the administrative staff, were problematic to say the least. The administrative staff truly tries, but a lot of the kids at AHS, just don't exactly mesh well with the rules and regulations, so that when the administrative staff steps in, it creates a problematic situation. Airport went through at least four different principals while I was there, and there were always fights during times of transition. But the teaching staff is absolutely wonderful. I loved all of the teachers and classes I was put in and truly enjoyed my time in the classroom at Airport. I just wish the student body was better behaved and recognized that school is what you make it.
I have been involved very much with Airport since my junior year. Towards the beginning of my freshman year, all I was focused on was about my classes and not much the fun aspect of high school; such as the football games, school dances or even the schools pep rally’s. It was until halfway through my sophomore year that I became involved. After my sophomore year I decided to join student government and then my spirit for the school was tremendous, hopefully with the scholarship money I earn, I am able to enjoy my time at a college and focus on the academic aspect of college instead of worrying about the constant fees. With the $1,000 dollars that I could possibly earn from this scholarship, I plan to buy books, utilities required for each of the courses that I need to take or to possibly purchase a Laptop which would be of good use for classes overall.
