Air Base is a great school. I have attended there for all of elementary through middle school and I have enjoyed it. The teachers and staff are awesome and if your worried about a lot of work, it's manageable. Air Base ensures that students are educated about different places and events around the world. For example, parades that we can voluntarily participate in and show our appreciation for different cultures. It also has a variety of after-school clubs that students can join. For anyone thinking about enrolling their child at Air Base, I strongly recommend that you do.
Air Base is a very good school, its a great learning environment for kids. Going strictly by the numbers, its rank history is far from stellar (schooldigger) as an elementary school but it developes the kids well into strong middle school performers.( See Schooldigger Middle school numbers)Their are better schools in the Miami area, but not many, if your talking K-8 development from kindergarten through 8th grade, its an excellent choice, staffed by first rate professional, who will care about your kids education and development. Strongly considered if your fortunate enough to get in.
I am a student at Air Base and i believe it is a great school in general but when it comes to the Upper academy and the magnet I believe it is vague. For example we only have 2 languages spanish and french which is much less in comparison to schools like carver and in the Middle school there is only 2 teachers for the magnet 1 teaches french and spanish and the other only spanish.Besides the school has been there for 60 years and yet we only have 1 cafeteria no auditorium and no indoor gymnasium and only 1 extracurricular activity which is soccer and we dont even have a field. Also as a 6th garde student me and others get TOO MUCH HOMEWORK there is no possible way other schools have the same programs and our students struggle so much .
