Beautiful new school, teaches are nice but I'm not sure what, if anything students are learning here. If your child is advanced or even just proficient there are no challenges for them. If they are in the dreaded middle students receive no support whatsoever. That's not to mention the no homework policy. I understand there are many studies which show homework is not absolutely necessary for elementary aged kids, but both my children struggled badly when they reached middle school. More so than their peers from other Newton Elementary schools. School has experienced a mass exodus the last couple years with parents shipping their kids off to private school. Can't blame them.
Angier is an incredible place - teachers are creative and attentive to each students individual needs, and the leadership is very accessible, logical and capable. The staff clearly cares about what the students are learning, and the content and quality of academics taught is top notch. The family community is warm and inclusive and the mantra "you're never a stranger at Angier" clearly fits this school 100 percent!
My kids have had a wonderful transition as we moved from a different town. Teachers paid special attention to them to ensure they are well integrated in the new environment while making new friends and increasing their knowledge
