My experience with Stevenson was pretty great overall. I was only there for half a day as I am also a student at UCMST, but it was still enjoyable regardless. I enjoyed the wide range of classes that we were offered as students and the flexibility I had in scheduling. As an MST student, it is often difficult for us to get all the requirements we need for graduation because of the additional requirements we have at MST, but my counselor was very patient and helped me get out of certain requirements by utilizing my MST credits. I also enjoyed the wide range of clubs our school had to offer; there truly is something for everyone. The one thing I will say is that I found that the school culture is somewhat iffy; we do have lots of spirit events but the majority of students are very apathetic about our school, so it's always the same group of kids who go. All in all though I enjoyed my time at Stevenson and will miss everyone there so much!
Honestly, I enjoyed my High school experience. We as humans are all aware that the stigmatized version of high school is false. Whether it’s from former high school students who had a distasteful high school experience or from the media glorifying high school. Alas, the truth is High school is something an American must experience it is not an option for us. Through this, I have discovered the best way to overcome the stigmatism toward High school is to be flexible not only with my time but also with my outlook on things. With this out look it has made me more than prepared for my future career as a teacher.
A lot has happened throughout the 3 years I’ve been here. Honestly, I’m tired of it all. You have to deal with students vandalizing bathrooms and fighting. I made great friend with people in the marching band and will only really remember my moments in the marching band. The teachers are nice and som of them are very understanding. I will only remember 2 teachers and one amazing counselor. Very understaffed and the district is very unfair with their staff / students. Many improvements need to be done.
