Our oldest child with special needs attended Ada Christian for 3 years, our youngest child (no special needs) attended Ada Christian for 2 years. When we decided to put our youngest child in public school this year (instead of Ada Christian), they told us their policy was that ALL of our children need to attend Ada Christian in order to offset the extra cost of our special needs child. When we pressed them further and asked for this policy in writing, they said they were incorrect, that our youngest could attend another school, but that because our special needs child required "additional expenses related to extra resources", we would be required to pay increased tuition compared to the other children at the school. Of note, Ada Christian has very limited resources for special needs children. There is an obvious need to increase support in this area. We were very disappointed in their policy that families with special needs children should pay more tuition than others to attend.
Ada Christian School does a horrible job educating students culturally. There is no cultural competency. Therefore, many students exit the school unequipped to face the real world and deal with challenges. Ada Christian also has a horrible reputation in the community. Students here are known as stuck-up, rich, spoiled, racist, ect. The TEACHING staff is very proficient, however, some administrators are below satisfactory. Ada Christian needs a leadership overhaul—and, with their constant drop in enrollment, they may have a much needed wake-up-call. I would recommend Forest Hills Schools instead.
I really enjoyed my time here at Ada Christian. I was only there for the middle school, but I loved all of the teachers and most of the students. I felt like I learned a lot there and they really helped me transition into high school. I remember when I was there, my friends and I would start games in the hallways and everyone would join in, even the teachers and principal.
