Attending this high school for all 4 years, I like to think I have a relatively decent idea of the type of teachers that I have encountered. This school is relatively small, with less than a total of 200 students, and as one could imagine, there were not that many teachers needed. The volleyball coach is also the government teacher, just like the Spanish teacher doubles as the French teacher, and so forth. That being said, I have no complaints or critiques against the teachers with the exception of the limited thinking placed upon the students. The students are encouraged to go to community college, and are not driven by the teachers to expect much out of their performance. I believe that with an environment such as this one, if students are not being pushed by their parents or their teachers, in order to thrive in the real world, they would have to depend on an innate drive, which many of us do not gain at the ripe age of 13, going into high school. There is this lack of purpose (I feel) to attend a reputable university and even a lack of motivation from the teacher's end to push the students to truly do their best. Other than this one flaw I see in the teachers, I love this school and the close-knit learning environment!
Review Academy of Tucson High School
The guidance counselor is relatively new and young, but still extremely willing to help any student fill out scholarship forms, review college essays, talk about bullying, etc..The dress code is pretty strict with only allowing us to wear non-denim pants and polo's, but after awhile, it makes getting ready in the morning quite a bit easier! Bullying is not very prevalent, but I also think that is due to the fact that my school tends to eliminate all roots of these problems in a timely manner.
The teachers are really nice. All the teachers are more then willing to spend the time to help you one on one. The students all get along, there is a enforced no bullying tolerance. For the most part all the students get along.
