Academy is a great learning environment for all ages, providing both a rigorous curriculum and a supportive community of peers and teachers. This school is a unique blend of athletics, performing arts, and academics, with a blend of different people from all types of backgrounds. I have made many lifelong friends and established network relationships, thanks to academy.
My child started in the lower division and continued into the middle division. We were initially thrilled with our experience but when we moved into the middle school that changed. The teachers are not as engaging, administration is not responsive to problems or concerns, most of the coaches for middle level sports are volunteers and not necessarily trained to be a coach, special attention is given to children of families that make large contributions, the academics are no more advanced than any other private school. Finally we had to move to another school. This just was not worth over $20,00 a year anymore. The school promises that "you matter here". That was not experience after we graduated into the middle school level.
We have been at this school for 8 years and feel it is the best fit for us. The school has a family type atmosphere and the teachers are phenomenal. There is diversity, acceptance, and support for every aspect of your child's education. We have experienced all divisions and found each one to be of the highest quality and the staff caring, inspiring, and well supported. It is expensive, but more than worth it.
