A.C. Flora High School is an impressive school. The athletic teams win state championships, the arts programs compete all over the state, and the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement classes prepare students for future endeavors. These aspects allow A.C. Flora to be one of the best high schools in South Carolina. Most of the teachers push students to be their best selves and aim high in order to attain their dreams. The teachers are passionate and understanding and make me feel safe and respected in their classrooms. They have a no tolerance policy for bullying and harassment and that is incredibly present when watching student interactions. Overall, my experience at A.C. Flora has taught me how to be a kind and respective peer to my classmates, and how to step out of my comfort zone and try new things, as I am trying out for the Varsity Golf team and I have joined the Robotics Team for my upcoming Senior year. I am extremely grateful for my education here.

Very diverse school... fitting in SOMEWHERE is not really an issue. That being said, however, popular kids run the place and get away with everything, even with teachers that are otherwise very good at their jobs. Flora is a sports school, and, from my experience, coaches emphasize sports as the ONLY way of getting into college for most kids. This is true in some cases, but is not a blanket statement like they make it out to be- students would be doing a lot better if they were encouraged to apply themselves in their studies to a greater extent. The cafeteria seats 200 at a school with 1400 kids and is a hotspot for drugs. Most students eat outside, and on rainy days, in the gym or teachers' classrooms. The majority of teachers are surprisingly adequate, but, as with any school, there are a few "bad apples," if you will. The building, aside from the main entrance, new gym, and 300 hall, is an absolute wreck. The paint is chipped, hallways are narrow & the classrooms smell like mold.
Flora has been a wonderful school to attend. They offer a wide variety of high level academic classes including a plethora of AP courses, many of which I myself have taken or currently taking, as wall as the IB program. Flora also has a very good variety of well coached and well preforming sports teams and other clubs/artistic opportunities. The teaching staff are always very helpful, especially the ones that teach the higher level class, and are also very friendly and welcoming. Along with these, it is a very safe school with two resource officers who are also very friendly and helpful to students.
