My experience at Abraham Lincoln High School was unfortunately cut short because of COVID-19 but it was fun while it lasted. The staff here at Lincoln were really helpful when I need help such as support for my schedule and mental health. I was going through depression and the wellness center was understanding that sometimes I just needed someone to talk to. When I was having cramps, the wellness center had everything you need from heating pads, water, pads, and snacks if you were hungry. The teachers here at Abraham Lincoln High School are also very helpful with your grades. If you were failing, the teacher would try to make sure everything is okay to help you get back on track.
A great high school overall with a diverse student body! Many teachers and staff members are incredibly supportive and always teach with enthusiasm. No students are left behind because there’s always helpful resources like the after school peer tutoring or the health & wellness center to help them get back to their feet. The only thing I would critique about this school is that there’s a lack of AP and honors classes, so it’s difficult to get the AP credit that you want as an ambitious student.
Lincoln is a pretty big school so there are tons of opportunities to meet new people. There's also a variety of clubs, sports, and school events. Some of the staff and teachers are super welcoming and motivating. It's also in a good location, a bus ride from the mall, near a small park, and nearby a lively street. Commuting to and from school is also easy because of the many bus stops around the school. The school can also provide things like food, tutoring, college resources, technology, and more. However, the bathrooms and the cafeteria are dirty majority of the times. There's also a very long line for the cafeteria food during lunch and students would have to be prepared to wait if they don't get there early.
