University of Wisconsin Reviews
Rating 4.16 out of 5 51 reviews
I think this coursework is engaging and encourages students to think critically about the content. During most of my classes, I have noticed a general pattern of discussion-focused instruction and group projects. While group work can be challenging, it is beneficial to learn how to interact and work with others. This is especially important to develop and master interpersonal communication skills that are crucial for success in the workforce. In all, most course work involves self-reflection, using relevant life experiences, and becoming educated on different pieces of literature and current research. I can only speak from my perspective as a student at the university who has participated in the colleges of letters and science program and currently the social work program at UW Madison.
The BME program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison was amazingly hands-on. Each semester we would be given opportunities to work on teams to design medical device projects. There were also many research opportunities for students on the campus and many very qualified and renowned faculty. Overall, the program gave me the skillsets to excel as a student, worker, and future career in academics.
The University of Wisconsin has many excellent graduate programs. The medical school gives excellent opportunities for growth in basic sciences and clinically. There are a plethora of research opportunities that would satisfy almost anyone. The city is also great and had Midwest nice feel to it while still having plenty to do. Madison is a sports hub of Wisconsin, and there are many activities that can be taken advantage of.
