University of Utah Reviews

The University of Utah is wonderful! There are facilities for everything you can imagine, and student support like none other from the school! I think the teachers are great, and the campus is incredible. Besides the wacky roads and tuition price, if you live in Utah and have means to take even a few courses here I would like to mention the U of U's great financial aid. The U of U campus continues to expand any while I would hope that they would build with environmental sustainability in mind, they have already planned on doing so! There are also people from all over the world attending, so if you're someone who likes hearing stories from all over or meeting interesting, strong, and new people--definitely come join us!
As a former foster youth without family, I can say with the utmost confidence that being part of the University of Utah College of Social Work community has been a life-changing experience for me. The program provides outstanding academic training and fosters a supportive community that values inclusivity, diversity, and social justice. The faculty and staff are passionate about their work and deeply committed to supporting their students both inside and outside of the classroom.
Furthermore, the program's commitment to social justice is more than evident in the curriculum, which covers a wide range of topics, including human rights, child welfare, anti-oppressive practice, diversity and inclusion and so much more. In summary, the College of Social Work program is a welcoming and supportive community that truly values diversity and inclusivity. As a former foster youth without family, I have found a sense of belonging that has been invaluable to my personal and academic growth.

My graduate program at the University of Utah was worth the time, money, and work thanks to the phenomenal professors and relevant course content. I have used my training daily in the workplace and often refer back to the material I've held onto in my professional practice.
More specifically in regards to the School Counseling program, each class treated us like professionals and we took our classes alongside Clinical Mental Health Counselors, Genetic Counselors, School Psychologist, etc. This program set us up with connections even before graduation, making it easy to network in our field when needed.
Lastly, the graduate program at the University of Utah was catered toward working professionals. At the time, I was working full-time as a middle school English teacher and was able to take all of my classes in the evening. Plus, I had enough time to get from my workplace and to the university thanks to university transportation and parking lots. This graduate program was worth it.
