University of the Cumberlands Reviews
Rating 4.44 out of 5 59 reviews
Very home like community with amazing help. A beautiful campus and such nice people. When I was first there I was very scared because I was such a young freshman but everyone made me feel at home. I had moments during the middle of the semester where I had many doubts and I was super stressed about money and my financial aid but all I had to do was go speak to the very nice ladies in the Financial Aid office and they helped me with everything I needed and more. The Cumberlands also has many programs for so many different things for you to do. So many communist service opportunities, work study positions & more. I’ve very much enjoyed my time at the University of the Cumberlands and I’m excited for the many years I have to go ahead!
I'm in the PhD Counselor Education and Supervision program. I have really enjoyed the way the class material makes me think critically about my role in educating future counselors. I've had an opportunity to stretch my worldview and self-awareness. I struggle a little bit with how the program is structured. There's a somewhat defined sequence of classes, but it's more in groups of classes rather than having you an order to go by. Professors have been helpful though!
All professors and staff have been very helpful with questions and very flexible with workload considering the COVID-19 situation. I do wish the varying Teacher Leader Program options were clearer to distinguish on the website when enrolling (such as the regular Teacher Leader and the Interdisciplinary Teacher Leader programs) and the Teacher Leader Handbook was a little more clear on when to take certain classes once enrolled. Overall, the 4 classes I've taken have been something I've looked forward to and I have enjoyed each of the professors I've had so far.
