University of San Francisco Reviews

I really liked the program I was in! The professors were great, the classrooms were good, science facilities were mostly updated. The cohort of students was very collaborative and the admins running the program were fantastic. There were a few things about the university itself that I found could be improved for graduate students. I wish there was a separate graduate student section in the library or other study space that didn’t have undergraduates. There were some graduate student jobs on campus and I was fortunate enough to get one, but the program could have offered more of those. They also didn’t have many graduate student specific events that brought together graduate students outside of the program.

The coursework was rigorous and fast-paced without feeling like busy work. Most of the professors I had struck the perfect balance between assigning work to help us learn and keeping the material relevant to the career path most of us would need it for. I wish there would have been more emphasis on matching students with advisors who were experts in the field that students were researching. Although this wouldn’t be possible for all topics students pick, but having a more formalized program to connect students to faculty advisors or other resources at other local universities would have strengthened the product for many people’s masters projects.
The professors who taught the MPH program were real-world professionals and experts in their field! We had a professor who worked for the CDC, and others who worked for other state agencies relevant to the program!
