University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez Graduate Reviews

4 reviews
My experience at the university has been pleasant since I was a undergraduate student, but I am doing my studies at the same institution. The graded professors are the same as undergraduates, and the topics in class are very similar, including the class methodology. Therefore, the knowledge of acquiring diversity of information is null. In addition, the source of entrepreneurship is much smaller. Research work is very limited, and where one must use the intellect to solve problems. As for services to students, they are very unfriendly, since they are very slow and bureaucratic. They must streamline different processes to improve the quality of services to students. Also, the variety of class we can take is very small, since there are no teachers available to offer classes. The university has no funds, for research, or to pay instuctors, so we lack this experience.

This is my first semester at "El Colegio" (that is how the students call it), and so far so good. The campus is huge, the common areas are spacious. The personal of the campus offers workshops, orientations, conferences in different areas. They have great associations and groups that accomplish various things and helps others. The professors are great, they are always willing to help the student. The programs RUM (Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez) offers are a lot, they have business administration, nursing, engineering, animal sciences, biology, and much more. Most of them are offered for bachelor, master or doctorate degree. I am a graduate student and what the university offers me is amazing. In the library we have an area just for us in which we can do all of our research and thesis dissertation.
The University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez it's the BEST university in the country. It provides excellent education to undergraduate and graduate students. It provides many opportunities for students to get involved in a working environment. Overall rating: excellent.
