As a mother of four children, I have struggled since I have no degrees. I dropped out of school with my first pregnancy early in life. I went to get my GED with my daughter in 2012, and we both received a GED together! I lost a few of my grandkids to the system several years ago, and due to my own childhood traumas, I have decided to pursue a degree in Social work to help people struggling in the system. I have a passion for protecting children from predators, and reuniting families that are deserving to be reunited. I hope to make an impact on the lives of children, and families. I am going to college at 47 years old, and feel my life experiences have equipped me to pursue my dream now.
The University of Phoenix has a Master of Nursing Education program that is a beacon for excellence and success. Though this is an online course I feel that acquiring knowledge and skills to support my advanced nursing role is seamless. The staff at The University of Phoenix has perfected their communication making the expectations as a student clear. I am exposed to research methodologies, critical appraisal of evidence, and the application of research findings to clinical practice. The University of Phoenix empowers me to contribute to a generation of new knowledge, enhance patient outcomes through evidence-based interventions, and bridge the gap between research and practice. This program provides an enriching environment for networking and collaboration among individuals. I have overall enjoyed my experience and would recommend this program to anyone.
The University has been very helpful throughout my journey. I really found it helpful for the school to follow-up with the new students weekly. The main reason I looked into getting into the University is because they offer lived experience as some of the credits. That took some relief off my shoulders. I also appreciate how I could call almost every hour of every day and get help if needed. The communication has been splendid. I have disagreed with some of the academic integrity expectations but after reviewing with the advisor and having a discussion on the topic. We agreed both of us had a point. I felt understood and and receptive of the other party. I also appreciate their resources for the students. They have an amazing online library that coordinated with the CRAAP method principles. I have had nothing but good feedback and discussions with the Professors. They have been doing their jobs perfectly. Overall, the school has been very helpful and I would recommend others join.
