I studied professional writing and English for my graduate degree. As a full-time working mother of two, I had to take no more than two classes at a time, making the length of my program three years. The classes were extremely interesting, as I took a mix of literature and writing courses. The professors were always smart, kind, funny, and forgiving. Especially during tumultuous hurricane seasons and the pandemic year.
The coursework encourages critical thinking which subsequently helps to learn the material. This university encourages you to work harder and smarter in order to master the knowledge required for your desired profession. Instructors are willing to help you every step of the way while they challenge you and help you to gain as much knowledge in your field as possible. Furthermore, these instructors will help you earn opportunities that will launch your career and give you a competitive advantage.
The academics at UNO are always appropriately challenging. The professors in English compel their students to think deeply and critically. I picked up a great number of new, practical skills and expanded my worldview through this program.
