    Overall the biochemistry major at umass dartmouth has some very challenging courses. The workload at times can be demanding. Most professors do want you to succeed and they will be very helpful during office hours.

    However, the school does not do a good job helping students find work after they graduate. It's up to them to relentlessly apply and make use of thier degree. It took me a year and a have to find a job in a lab and I am still not technically using my degree because I am cleaning stuff in the lab. Do not get discouraged though! You will eventually find something amazing! It just takes time.

    The University has a great selection of majors and D3 athletic programs, it offers students a way to study what they want while continuing sports they love. The Bioengineering department and faculty were overall great! I would like to see change in the background workings of the school and to take the student's perspective into account when making decisions on funding.
    The professors are excellent. They are all highly committed to their students' success and passionate about the subject matter they are teaching. Furthermore, the environment is extremely supportive, rather than cut-throat and hypercompetitive as you sometimes see in graduate programs. The program is still challenging, however. The course load is heavy and time-consuming, and the program is quick-paced. Overall, I have enjoyed my time in the program and feel it has benefited my professional development immensely. I just wish they offered greater financial assistance for out-of-state students and had greater resources to provide more opportunities for their students.
