University of Maryland - University College Graduate Reviews

32 reviews
As an older student that has been out of college for nearly 20 years, I am very impressed with the approach that University of Maryland University College (UMUC) takes to acclimate students to the academic environment. When I was an undergrad, I used a word processor to type my papers and the registration process involved standing in a long line at the registrar's office! Needless to say, I was nervous about how I would adjust to a more technologically advanced college setting. However, my experience at UMUC with selecting my major, enrolling in my classes, and the hybrid class format has made me feel confident and prepared to obtain my Master's degree in Information Technology. Therefore, I highly recommend UMUC, especially to non-traditional students who may be apprehensive about starting or returning to school.

UMUC is an excellence college and always concern with academic progress of students. The school follow up students from entry level to graduation. Course advisers constantly contact students to advice on the next courses to take each session. Lecturers are professional and well prepared for courses. Classes are made convenient for both workers and non-workers. I particularly prefer the online class because I can attend lectures and do my assignment anywhere and anytime. Before and after graduation, they communicate with their students and alumni giving information about job opportunity, provide application that assist with resume building and interview questions preparation and help desk.
My experience with UMUC has been exceptional. The staff are professonal, well-mannered, and there to help you no matter the issue. The professors all come from various academic backgrounds and are still working in the field in which they are teaching. The classes are easy to follow long with and the opportunity to interact with individuals across the globe make discussions dynamic. I recently graduated with my B.S. in Business Administration from UMUC less than a month ago and just registered for my first course in the graduate program. UMUC is definitely a great school for individuals who want to continue their higher education on fixed budget and even low income, while also maintaining a work, family, and social life.
