I had a great experience at UHD, it was very close to home and I could ride my bike to and from the parking was also not bad if I did not feel like riding my bike. I loved the diversity there and the easy access to and from classes. Depending on your major most of all your classes are in 1 building.
Construction is underway on UHD's future Student Wellness & Success Center that will redefine the student experience by enhancing fitness and recreation on campus while providing students with new areas for studying, socialization, and community-building.
Although UHD does not have an intercollegiate varsity athletics program, it does offer its students a number of club sports and intramural sports in addition to numerous fitness programs. UHD's club sports teams are known as the Gators. The UHD mascot is known as Ed-U-Gator. The university and its community offer additional activities for students such as clubs, organizations, fraternities, and sororities.

Good programs, affordable and budget friendly It is not as cheap as two-year community colleges, but it is significantly cheaper than most four-year schools. This school makes taking classes while working a full-time job a process that can be done. Hybrid classes are what got me through college as a full-time student and a full-time worker. Professors and advisors work with you on what is the most efficient and acceptable course of action to take with any issue. They are kind and helpful with advice but professors are stern with deadlines and quality of work as they are at any university. This is helpful so that the student is able to grow and improve in their class. Overall, UHD is a great school and I will always recommend online courses, but if you can spare the time to attend a face to face class then, of course, that is always the better option. Financially this university is affordable and helps immensely with the majority of the cost.
My overall experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend university of houston to anyone, not only because of the academics but because if you are coming from out of state there is a lot to do in houston. Houston alone has great resources but being in the heart of downtown is a beautiful view. People at this school know how to engage in intellectual conversations so if that's what your into then this school or any of the University of Houston schools would be good for you.
