During my time at University of Tennessee Health Science center, I have learned so much about the field of Physical Therapy. My first year was during COVID, so everything had to be adapted to online only with few lab experiences. This was difficulty on the professors and us students, but we learned to grow with the technology increases. Once we got back on campus, it was a great feeling and you finally felt like a physical therapy student. Labs were great and classes in person were so much different. Unfortunately for my class, the staff turnover was high. We were in the middle of multiple staff changes and chair changes that altered our way of doing certain things. This was a big challenge for the university and students.
My overall experience at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center was great. Other than staff changes and COVID, there was really no faults with the program. I enjoyed my 3 years there and would recommend to anyone interested.
The University is prestigious and leads nationally in its various programs offerings. UTHSC is very well respected in the community. Faculty and associated entities are extremely experienced in their respective fields. With any new innovations, there is trial & error. However, the University appears committed to its students by being open to hear AND address concerns voiced by the student body.
