The CUNY School of Professional Studies Reviews
Rating 4.44 out of 5 16 reviews
Studying Applied Theatre at CUNY under one of the pioneers of the profession, Christopher Vine has been an enlightening and rewarding experience. My cohort is supportive in both my academic and professional process. In recognizing that theatre and education in the US is still dominated by white leaders, it has been illuminating to be an Asian American in a space where my opinions and ideas are held in high regard by my professors and my classmates. Though I find the work to be sometimes hard and overwhelming, I'm driven to keep going because of the confidence the people in my program have in me. It's been inspiring and uplifting to be in an educational space like this. For the first time going to school, I feel seen and respected as an Asian American.
The program offers flexibility for working professionals in completing the program. The professors are very welcoming and encourage student learning participation. The professors were always available for assistance and support, taking the time to review and answer questions related to course content material.
The first few courses I took for the program were exciting and engaging, but my recent courses have felt redundant despite being at a higher level. Every course seems to require discussion board assignments.
