SUNY Purchase College Graduate Reviews

I can't see my adult life starting anywhere else. Purchase tries to offer a lot of flexibility to its students however when it comes to picking housing or courses based on credits, its entirely unfair. Allow athletes ti get first picks? Fine. Their scholarships bring in money and recognition. Going down by grade? Makes sense. However, I've noticed that transfer students struggle to transfer credits for certain courses simply because they came from a community college, which leads to problems such as what course they can/have to take or graduation date. I've heard many students being unable to choose housing because they had to withdraw from a semester, such as medical illness or death of a family member, causes which shouldn't put them below any other student.

The community at Purchase is really unique and special, I've never connected with so many people all in the same place before. For my major it offered so much and my teacher was amazing. I found so many people to collaborate with. However, the facilities are atrocious and the food is way overpriced -- the quality is not worth paying for, but sometimes you have to because its a far drive to any alternatives. Living off campus was the best option for me. But overall I had a great experience.
