St. Mary's University Reviews
Rating 4.48 out of 5 23 reviews
St. Marys offered me a fantastic opportunity to excel both unschool and out of school. Whether it has been through their Law Success program with career counselors to help prepare me for interviews and job applications, to my law professors always being willing to talk with me about topics from class, I have never had as much fun in school than in my classes at St. Mary's. Because St. Mary's was a much smaller school than where I came from (UT Austin) it made the experience feel much more intimate than at my previous school which allowed me to excel in leadership positions in numerous school organizations including but not limited to, Student Bar Association, Personal Injury Law Association, Longhorn Bar Association, and Business Law Association. From my participation in these organizations, I have received job offers and internship offers along with access to Continuing Legal Education programs where I met industry experts and leaders that have opened up their network for my future.
The international relations program is a wonderful fulfilling program. You learn so much from it. There are a variety of classes to choose from. One way the program can be improved is by fixing the elective options, as many of these courses are not offered in a timely manner. The faculty and students are incredible. They constantly engage in conversations which is extremely important if you are taking online courses work. The professors make it easy to contact them for meetings. They also provide helpful feedback from assignments.
Do everything you can to be as active on campus as you can handle. Your network that you can create through the school is the biggest takeaway from me when I graduate. You will never ever be around hundreds of people in your classes where they are all interested in the same thing you are, and can lead you to future cases and clients. Meet the people around you and do your best to keep those connections positive.
