Simmons College Graduate Reviews

I went to Simmons for my masters in social work. I did the masters program part time which took 3 years to complete. This was a great option for me. I had amazing professors who were in the field and made learning fun. I completed two internships which taught me a lot about the field of social work and helped me understand what I wanted to do with my degree. I am giving a 4 star review for a few reasons. 1. There were many issues being a part time student that occurred in my first year that made it tough to feel like I belonged. 2. The education was great but the financial cost was not. 3. The internships are unpaid and it was difficult to find an internship that I was really interested in. Also, having to work, complete classes, and an unpaid internship was challenging. Overall, I did value my experience at Simmons, I have great friendships from there.

It was extremely useful and engaging coursework. It changed my life, and I had some of the most incredible professors who have done amazing things in their careers. I think the balance of homework, internships and classes over zoom made the online program the closest thing to regular classes. I took an online program certificate at another school and it wasn't nearly as interactive and well designed.
The graduate programs here are very expensive and I would make sure you do your research. For my intended area of study, I believe the investment is well worth the financial aspect. Nutrition and dietetics program is well put together with interesting and knowledgable professors.
