Master's Student: How will obtaining an advanced degree after 44 years in the workforce help to achieve my lifetime goals? Most people at age 74 would rather choose to sit back and enjoy retirement. Not me! Upon graduation from Albany Law School in 1976, my thoughts and goals included an LLM in Taxation. My legal aid service resulted in my name being placed on the Southern Poverty Law Center Wall of Tolerance in 2004 in recognition of efforts on behalf of Native Americans. So here it is 44 years later and I am doing what is the most enjoyable part of law for me, taxation. Syracuse University welcomed me as a veteran with open arms. In a year and a half, I completed a double major in History and Economics graduating in December 1972 Summa cum Laude. Washington University School of Law St. Louis, Missouri has an online program to achieve an LLM in Taxation in one year. The program is online which allows me to complete the coursework without having to move on campus.... Read 11 reviews

Doctoral Student: The academics are challenging and the college offers many opportunities to become involved within the school’s academia (mostly through journals, research opportunities, and moot court/trial team competitions with other law schools). Levin provides satisfactory opportunities to become more involved within the school’s academia. The downside is with revolving staff and some missed opportunities from certain teaching areas (Ex: IP work).... Read 3 reviews

Master's Student: BU has excellent faculty, a great facility, and a welcoming environment. While you can't escape competitiveness in law school, the cultivated atmosphere is one of helpfulness - in any way you may be struggling, you'll find peers, faculty, and staff ready to help. However, I wish there was more support from the administration for public interest students. Students in the field are left to lean on each other and select faculty members, while the school itself puts its resources into big law recruitment.... Read 4 reviews

Graduate Student: Honestly, attending UM Law has been a dream. The campus is beautiful and has that iconic old Florida charm. The professors are extraordinarily brilliant—nearly all of them being Ivy League graduates. The community is so warm and inviting. I have developed so many connections with professors and peers. The curriculum, while obviously challenging, is taught in a way that helps us students understand the material and be able to apply it to the real world. You can really tell that the UM Law faculty truly wants us to succeed. I could not have picked a more perfect law school to attend!... Read 8 reviews

Doctoral Student: I truly enjoyed my academic experience during my first year at Tulane Law School. It is a rigorous courseload and a lot of time spent studying, but the staff and faculty are fantastic and willing to help you understand and succeed. It initially seems really scary, especially as someone from a smaller undergraduate university. The fears quickly resolved as I realized that you only should be in competition with yourself, not your peers. They are on the same track and you are exactly where you need to be.... Read 5 reviews

Current Master's student: THE ACADEMIC PROGRAM I MUST SAY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. THE STUDENTS ARE DIVIDED INTO SECTIONS FOR THE GENERAL CLASSES TO PROMOTE MORE TEACHER TO STUDENT RATIO. THE FACULTY IS PRESENT WITH A LOT OF WELL SEASONED PROFESSORS WHO ARE VERY HELPFUL. THE PROFESSORS ARE EASY TO TALK TO AND ENTERTAIN ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. IT IS EVIDENT THAT THEY ARE YEARNING FOR YOU TO SUCEED AND HEAVILY INVESTED IN YOUR OVERALL FULFILLMENT. FLORIDA WEATHER IS ALSO A HAVEN FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AS IT IS NOT TOO COLD NOT TOO HOT. IT MAKES STUDYING MUCH EASIER COMPARED TO SNOW RIDDEN STATES. THE LIBRARY IS WELL STOCKED WITH BOOKS AND PEOPLE ARE GENERALLY HELPFUL. THE STUDENTS ARE VERY HELPFUL AND ARE MORE INVESTED IN BEING THE BEST VERSION OF THEMSELVES THAN IN COMPETITION EITH YOU. THIS MAKES GETTING OUTLINES MUCH EASIER. THERE ARE PROGRAMS ROUND THE CLOCK TO ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE BEST INFORMATION POSSIBLE. YOU HAVE ACCESS TO MENTORS, CURRENT AND RETIRED JUDGES, PARTNERS AND THE LIKES... Read 7 reviews

Doctoral Student: My favorite part about attending law school at GW are the amazing professors and faculty who are truly so talented and successful and care about students' success. Doctoral Student: Currently, I am okay with my experience at USD Law. Though everyone has been friendly throughout, it has been a difficult first year. Some professors are helpful, some are not at all. I would say find study groups and be sure to connect with T.A.s, as they are very knowledgable on the subjects. Overall, I would say a 7/10.... Master's Student: After doing some research in the Southern California area and speaking to former MBA students, I found the University of San Diego (USD) to be the most student centric. Their values of giving back to the community in addition to the passion that their professors have for the success of the students made it a top choice for me. Additionally, their focus around entrepreneurship is important given that San Diego is a big startup hub spot. In addition, I am looking forward to the partnerships that USD has formed with global companies. I will be able to take classes internationally as a result of these partnerships. These opportunities will allow me the opportunity to develop a global mindset. Having a global mindset will help round me out as a post-MBA student which should open the doors to a plethora of opportunities and ensure that I am another ethical leader entering the business world.... Doctoral Student: I like Sturm's emphasis on experiential learning and well-being. Doctoral Student: Before I had ever applied to the U of O I thought I was going to a different law school, and didn't even have it on my radar. It turns out that U of O law is the only school to offer a specialization in family law in the state. When I went to watch a special state supreme court hearing at the school I was enamored with the place. As a person who uses a walker to get around I appreciated how walkable, and accessible, the campus was! As a newly admitted student I appreciate that every question I have asked has gotten a straightforward answer, and I am not condescended to.... Read 3 reviews
