Master's Student: Throughout my year at HGSE, one thing I heard over and over again was that you come to the Ed school for the people. This is overwhelmingly true. Professors are extremely passionate about their discipline and have incredible experiences to share with you. They make themselves readily available before and after class as well as during office hours. You can discuss lecture material and assignments, but I took the opportunity to learn more about their professional journeys, i.e. how they ended up being professors at Harvard. Peers are similarly passionate and each comes from diverse backgrounds, as teachers, executives at NGOs, and researchers. I feel privileged to have studied alongside them.... Read 7 reviews

Alum: The Marriage and Family Therapy program was okay, some Professors are way better than others and in general, do not expect anyone to go out of their way to help you, you have to figure things out by yourself. Good luck if you are an international student, they basically have no idea what you are going through. The program is a good starting point for your career but definitely you are going to have to do a lot of additional work to be able to practice as an MFT, as per required by the licensing board, but the preparation is good enough.... Master's Student: Best: - Incredible colleagues, many of whom are working professionals in the field, all of whom are passionate & come from diverse backgrounds & bring a wide variety of life/ professional experiences that enhance the overall experience -One of the few DEIJ degree programs offered worldwide -flexible options for program completion -many passionate professors & deep learning opportunities -increasing program investment by Tufts, including 2 new FT program-specific professors Most challenging: -program has grown exponentially in the last several years & has experienced commiserate growing pains, including confusion about requirements, need for more faculty, and more opportunities for practice. Tufts is responding but needs to continue its investment. -Since the program is interdisciplinary, students in the DEIJ-L program often need to take classes offered by other dept's/ colleges which may have different requirements & DEIJ-L students may not get preference for registration purposes... Doctoral Student: As a full-time staff member, part-time student, the academic rigor has been challenging yet fulfilling. The first year is designed to get a doctoral student acclimated to the level of academic rigor expected, familiar with the "lay-of-land" and introduction to research and the higher education landscape. I took a long gap between getting my masters and now pursuing my doctorate degree, so ramping up to handle the level of research needed to include the amount of reading required, and levels of presentations/activities required was a learning and balancing curve.... Master's Student: The inclusion classes are great. Some of the professors exhibit some microaggressions, but for the most part the education is good. It is a smaller school, so everybody knows each other, which can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. Master's Student: I am enrolled in graduate school distance education program. The online courses are delivered on time and are of high quality. I thought the courses I have taken have all been very interesting and challenging. Grading is fair and there are not too many surprises--except my last final exam which I did not think sufficiently culminated or represented the semesters-long learning very well. Overall, though, it has been quite fun and engaging to be in NCSUs graduate program. I enjoy the journey of learning and NCSU has been top in delivering quality academics and a great price point.... Graduate Student: Overall, it’s pretty good to be a grad student at TU in A&S, but that is changing rapidly. The faculty care about us and the other students do as well, but neither the Board of Trustees nor the President nor the Provost (now acting President) actually care about this particular group of students. They’d honestly rather A&S disappear to make way for “industry jobs”. If your goal is to pursue Psychology, then TU is a solid option. Other degrees housed under A&S? I’d look elsewhere just to be safe.... Read 1 review

Master's Student: Pepperdine is known in the Psychology field for its great education and learning experience. The Calabasas campus has some really amazing professors. They are inspiring plus motivate and encourage their students. Those professors make their students want to come to class to learn everything they can. Unfortunately, the Calabasas campus does not get the same attention as the other locations. It can be difficult to get into classes because the program only has one course open for the Term. Due to that, it’s also anxiety provoking because you only have the option for one Professor on the specific day assigned. It’s a toss up, could work out with your work, internship, and ideal course schedule or it doesn’t. Plus fingers crossed that the one open course is with a good Professor!... Read 106 reviews

Graduate Student: Currently completing an online Masters in Education. This is the first year this program has been offered (21st century teaching and learning). What I have been most pleased with is that it is truly an online course. Further, all of the professors have been willing to change their content to fit the needs of the cohort. Yes, this is a cohort style Masters, which means you complete all the requirements with a small group that moves through the steps at exactly the same time. The ability to collaborate with these great educators has been invaluable! ... Read 2 reviews
