Current Master's student: The Professors in my Human Development Studies program are so unique and integral to the education system here at Peabody. Any student of theirs can tell how much time they spend on creating activities, coursework, and value to what we do in class. There is no "busy work" in this program; everything we do in and out of class can be utilized in the future.... Read 21 reviews

Master's Student: The clinical mental health counseling program has been great in emphasizing the importance of cultural competence in the counseling space. I have been able to collaborate with an amazing group of peers that make up my cohort to face challenges and concerns that arise in regard to the field of counseling. I have had some great professors who do their best to ensure we have the knowledge we need to be successful. However, there have been some adjunct professors who have other obligations that take away their time from providing feedback in a timely fashion and prolong receiving grades back for assignments. There have also been major changes in faculty that affect our ability to know what professor we will have when registering for the next semester.... Read 21 reviews

Current Master's student: To provide some context, I am currently attending NYU in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development to earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The program is excellent in the sense that it is organized, comprehensive, and highly individualized as the class size is so small (capped at 40 per year). The program is designed to mold each student into well-rounded, generalized practitioners which sets a great foundation for us if we choose to further our careers with certain specialties. The professors of this program are without a doubt some of the most passionate people in the field and it shows during their lectures and how they interact with students. Professors highlight that while yes they are teaching us, they also learn from us with our new perspectives as well which evenly places importance on both the professor and the student. Overall, I would highly recommend this program to anyone pursuing a DPT degree.... Read 19 reviews

Doctoral Student: As a full-time staff member, part-time student, the academic rigor has been challenging yet fulfilling. The first year is designed to get a doctoral student acclimated to the level of academic rigor expected, familiar with the "lay-of-land" and introduction to research and the higher education landscape. I took a long gap between getting my masters and now pursuing my doctorate degree, so ramping up to handle the level of research needed to include the amount of reading required, and levels of presentations/activities required was a learning and balancing curve.... Master's Student: My experience with Wheelock College has been limited since I have not officially started at the University. I have limited experience with the school and faculty. In terms of the counseling department, and the admissions team have been extremely helpful and overall thorough. The faculty seems quite kind and open as well. Master's Student: My experience has been great. Half of the program I spent online due to the pandemic and the instructors were more than happy to accommodate students so they could be successful. Current Doctoral student: They are so low cost compared to others, but are still very high quality. They have a hybrid program for students who wish to complete their Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2 years, instead of the standard 3 year. It costs 119,000 currently for the entire program. The program is a hybrid, where you do bookwork at home, with 3 regular zoom meetings. Then, you fly to their campus from anywhere in the country for 10 day "intensives", where you do things that a PT can't learn just from reading. This includes patient interaction, shadowing, cadaver dissections, equipment practice, experimentation, etc. Then, at first only once a week but escalating as time goes on, you are doing a clinical day in your local area. When you are finished with the "coursework", you then begin your fulltime clinicals. They are able to find places for you to do clinicals in anywhere across the country, with proper notice. Like before, they have a team that contacts places for clinicals placement.... Read 27 reviews

Master's Student: The application process to get accepted was very thoroughly laid out for me. My classes are all online, so I am able to create a work-life balance. There are advisors available in several departments that use a "No wrong door" policy when I ask clarifying questions. My professors so far have all been fair and responsive. Getting hooked up with internships when living out of state is probably the most stressful part of going to this school. However, my advisor in that area is also very responsive and helpful. Getting the required textbooks are reasonable and available for rent online in PDF format. Professors have not yet required the newest of the new textbooks and I haven't seen any conflict of interest in textbook requirements. It's reasonably affordable and very convenient. I compare homework assignments with my peers where I live and there is a definite difference in the quality of work that is expected of me as compared to people going to school online at campuses near me....
