Master's Student: The majority of course instructors at the Brown School are supportive and brilliant. I have loved getting to learn from these instructors. My classmates are passionate and driven, and have fostered community even while we all learn remotely. The remote nature of courses during the pandemic has not strongly harmed my academic learning, but has created social and networking challenges. Still every member of the Brown School community is eager to meet with you and be a part of your growth. St. Louis is a great city to learn in, and Wash U has strong connections throughout the city.... Read 11 reviews

Master's Student: I truly enjoy the enriching curriculum that I learn in my graduate program because it truly adds meaning to my educational and professional journey. The professors are kind and challenge me in a positive manner to become a better student and as an emerging social worker. The community of my colleagues in my classes is always welcoming and collaborating in group projects has also been a joyful experience. I truly believe the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at the University of Southern California is one of the greatest graduate programs to obtain my master of social work.... Read 25 reviews

Master's Student: Hi my name is Taylor Bell. At Medgar Evers College I attended the BSSW program to receive my bachelor’s in social work. Overall the program had challenges and rewards. As a full time student, parent and intern my life was in a new transition. I am now graduating with analytical abilities, leadership and communication skills. The worst part of the program was adjusting to time management. The best part of the program was being rewarded with students being receptive to resources provided to them through me from the institution. I interned at Transition Academy and my duties consisted of being at the Cougar Food Pantry as well as assisting students with food vouchers, MetroCards and any other information they may have needed. Helping students succeed through higher education is a feeling I want to have for the rest of my career.... Read 9 reviews

Alum: Overall it was a good program. It is definitely a fantastic option in terms of connection to internships in the state that cover wildly different areas of social work. The professors are very invested in their student's success. You get what you put into the program. You can definitely skate by and get your degree, but if you want a truly enriching experience you need to put in the effort to get to know your professors, ask about research opportunities as well as programs offered in the school....
