Master's Student: This review is largely dependent upon the student attending YSPH and what they seek to gain from the experience. As a student of color in higher education, I was personally seeking a welcoming environment conducive to my academic and professional development. While YSPH offers opportunities to engage with the community, develop technical research skills, and establish a network of professional relationships, it struggles to cater to the needs of its most underrepresented, underfunded students. This includes having poor URM ratios in staff, faculty, and student populations. This is also impacted by limited transportation provisions set by Yale as well as barriers accessing healthy, affordable, and accessible grocery stores. The campus of course has great things to offer as well including a nine-story gym to encourage physical fitness and health among its students; beautiful and spacious libraries spread throughout; leisurely activities including restaurants, hiking, and shopping...Read 4 Reviews

Master's Student: For a completely online semester due to the pandemic, our professors were extremely understanding and accommodating. A bit unfortunate the school did not provide us with STATA packages and so we had to log into the school's system which ran slow sometime, but overall I felt the school still cared/supported its students in other areas (providing additional study equipment i.e. monitors, desks, etc.)...Read 9 Reviews

Master's Student: I felt very supported my entire time at Liberty University. The professors were incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in their fields. Many of the professors brought a great deal of real-world professional experiences with them into the class. The online coursework made schooling during COVID seamless and convenient. All of the professors were devoted to the Lord and cared a great deal for their students and there was never a time when I felt a professor was unprofessional or unapproachable. I always felt comfortable going to professors with questions, which is rare in online courses...Read 2 Reviews

Graduate Student: I have been a graduate student at Duke for almost 4 years in a life-science related PhD( Cell Biology) program. I would highly recommend Duke STEM graduate programs to anyone. Graduate school has a good support systems for students overall when it comes to professional development, exploring alternative career options, student wellness overall. In the past there has been some disagreements between the school administration and graduate school council regarding some student benefits ( coverage of dental insurance etc), but overall I would say students are content with Duke...Read 4 Reviews

Master's Student: I'm a 2nd year MPH student. The good:- The interdisciplinary concentration is incredibly flexible - you can truly shape your academic experience and take classes that are meaningful to you- Tons of resources - both at the SPH and "on the hill"- The building is open 24/7 - makes for a nice, quiet place to study when the library is overstimulatingThe not-so-good:- Tuition is massively expensive. Some support is given to MPH students, but it's not enough. When I asked about it, I got a vague "limited funds" kind of answer. Brown has millions of dollars in the bank, and the SPH is rapidly expanding...surely an extra $1-5k per MPH student wouldn't hurt...- Advising for MPH students is poorly structured. Students are assigned at random to an advisor, and this worked out very poorly for me. My advisor took a completely hands-off approach and did little to nothing to help me assimilate into the rigors of academic study...- Would like to see more support re: finding a thesis advisorRead 2 Reviews

Master's Student: The majority of course instructors at the Brown School are supportive and brilliant. I have loved getting to learn from these instructors. My classmates are passionate and driven, and have fostered community even while we all learn remotely. The remote nature of courses during the pandemic has not strongly harmed my academic learning, but has created social and networking challenges. Still every member of the Brown School community is eager to meet with you and be a part of your growth. Master's Student: I really love the cirriculum that is taught at Carey Business School. I am currently enrolled in a Masters of Science in Healthcare Management program and I believe Johns Hopkins continues to distinguish itself not only as an academic instiution that places it's emphasis on research but by taking a multidiscpilinary approach in it's instruction. For example, this has particularly enabled me to gain further insight in some of the more complex issues of healthcare which require a broader purview whereby Johns Hopkins taught through modes of business and legal frameworks that help students grasp the realm of healthcare holistically. This is one of the many reasons that I recommend the program. Although in project base learning students do learn through Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the School of Medicine. I would love for the business school to get more practical experience in helping medical innovators bring their patented devices to the world...Read 14 Reviews

Master's Student: I really enjoyed the support and resources that the school lended towards the academics and professional development aspects. My degree requirements pushed me to gain real experience in the field of public health, network, and make lifelong connections. I would only push the school to make more of an effort to increase student culture amongst students. Admittedly, the Rollins School of Public Health does a better job at this compared to the university itself...Read 6 Reviews
