Current Master's student: University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences - online masters in health informatics program. The design allows for part time and online classes in evenings. There are certificates for professionals who want to gain skills, but not pursue a masters as well. The school assigns a student navigator that reaches out often to check in. The coursework is practical and applied. The school also collects and communicates about internship and work opportunities almost daily! Master's Student: Overall, great experience! A plethora of research interest within the department. A lot of campus resources to help with research, writing, and even mental health! There is something for everyone - a young researcher eager to find out about the impact of Marvel films, to the seasoned veteran exploring the compounding effects of digital literacy. In addition to the plethora of topics covered, each student can complete their research at their own pace! There are advisors that will provide strict guidelines and guidance and others that allow their students to research and write at their own pace! Current Master's student: As a graduate engineering student at IIT, I appreciate how rigorous the graduate engineering programs at IIT are. There is a lot of options for courses, majors, certificates, learning opportunities, career development opportunities, etc. available at IIT. There is also a general strong appreciation for the sciences here. As a primarily online student, I find the online program to be robust in terms of options. There are limitations on certain classes having online options, but many do, more than I've seen at some of the other local universities with graduate engineering programs in the greater Chicagoland area. For some more critical notes, the area in Chicago around IIT's campus is semi-safe, but semi-rough. It's not bad, but not great. Another critical note is that, while I've had largely good experiences with professors in online classes, I have had some be very slow to respond to emails and slow to update grading online.
