Master's Student: Best: - Incredible colleagues, many of whom are working professionals in the field, all of whom are passionate & come from diverse backgrounds & bring a wide variety of life/ professional experiences that enhance the overall experience -One of the few DEIJ degree programs offered worldwide -flexible options for program completion -many passionate professors & deep learning opportunities -increasing program investment by Tufts, including 2 new FT program-specific professors Most challenging: -program has grown exponentially in the last several years & has experienced commiserate growing pains, including confusion about requirements, need for more faculty, and more opportunities for practice. Tufts is responding but needs to continue its investment. -Since the program is interdisciplinary, students in the DEIJ-L program often need to take classes offered by other dept's/ colleges which may have different requirements & DEIJ-L students may not get preference for registration purposes... Current Master's student: To provide some context, I am currently attending NYU in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development to earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The program is excellent in the sense that it is organized, comprehensive, and highly individualized as the class size is so small (capped at 40 per year). The program is designed to mold each student into well-rounded, generalized practitioners which sets a great foundation for us if we choose to further our careers with certain specialties. The professors of this program are without a doubt some of the most passionate people in the field and it shows during their lectures and how they interact with students. Professors highlight that while yes they are teaching us, they also learn from us with our new perspectives as well which evenly places importance on both the professor and the student. Overall, I would highly recommend this program to anyone pursuing a DPT degree.... Read 21 reviews

Doctoral Student: UW Madison's OTD program has been life changing for me. Not only have I been able to work through courses to create a foundation as a future OT practitioner, I have been able to connect with my fellow cohort members and professors in a way that these connections will last a lifetime. I am so honored to have the resources and accommodations that I do to succeed. That being said, with this program being newer, it does have some areas where it could be improved in terms of flow of content. I am sure with time and continuing feedback, this will be sorted out and make the program better and better moving forward!... Read 6 reviews

Current Master's student: Overall the Medex program is great. The experience of being in the only Physician Assistant Program in Washington is pretty awesome. Diatactic year has a lot of up's and down's personally due to the accelleration of a program at this caliber. The diversity of the cohort exceeds my expectations, along with the instructors whom have vastly different backgrounds to share. The only complaint I have thus far, almost 2 quarters in, is that the program could be a little more organized i.e- Canvas: where most of our assigments and content is found online. Overall, the experience has been great!... Read 7 reviews

Doctoral Student: The DPT program at Pitt is one of the best programs in the nation. As a student, you are able to hear from some of the most prominent leaders in the physical therapy field and have access to expert professors in every class. Pitt has extensive connections with clinical partners throughout Pennsylvania and the rest of the country, allowing for great options for clinical sites. Students get 42 weeks of clinical time to increase their experience prior to graduating. There is a strong focus on using the most recent evidence based practices available which allows for students to have the most up to date clinical skills. The only downside to this program would be the high cost of tuition.... Read 8 reviews

Doctoral Student: I will be entering my first year at GW and so far the academic experience has been stimulating. Even though I have officially taken classes, I have been introduced to programs and faculty members who challenge my thinking. I also enjoy the interdisciplinary nature of the school, partnerships exist with other programs like the MPH program and even the policy and schools. I have not had many complaints regarding the academics besides that GW does not have many regional campuses to encourage learning outside of the Foggy Bottom neighborhood.... Read 10 reviews

Doctoral Student: I begin the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program in January of 2024 and am so excited to have been accepted to the program. It's a 2-year doctorate program as opposed to the 3 year programs that most schools offer. Doctoral Student: My journey through the occupational therapy program has been transformative. It's allowed me to build deep relationships with peers, fostering resilience as we pushed our boundaries. Occupational therapy, a compassionate and innovative field, empowered me to impact lives profoundly. Meeting diverse patients broadened my horizons, emphasizing the importance of tailored care. Learning broadly, I can now assist a wider range of individuals. Preparing for rural and urban healthcare settings, I'm adaptable. Collaborating with healthcare professionals refined me. However, the journey brought academic challenges, demanding continuous growth. Compassion fatigue's emotional toll is daunting. Challenging healthcare settings tested resilience, and teamwork activities required effective communication. Despite these difficulties, they are integral to my growth and readiness for a fulfilling occupational therapy career.... Read 6 reviews

Alum: I was rarely not challenged at the University of Missouri, however, at the same time, never felt overwhelmed by the coursework. The professors wanted their students to be as passionate as they were which made the course work interesting. I have also had professors that have actually worked in the field who would alter their coursework to line up with the real world. A majority of things I learned are still with me because of the interesting and unique ways they taught.... Read 3 reviews

Master's Student: I have been incredibly impressed with the graduate program at PLNU! Admissions have been available since before classes started, excelling with communication to make sure I feel valued and taken care of as a student. My professors are knowledgeable and leaders in my field (Kinesiology) and are readily available to answer my questions. As a full-time working professional, it has been very manageable to balance work and school, a testament to the flexibility and understanding of the faculty and staff. My one remark for room for improvement would be to switch to more in-class lectures when possible. Of course, with Covid policy, this is tricky to do and sometimes out of the universities control, but I value that in class time and would like to see more of it.... Read 170 reviews
