Master's Student: For a completely online semester due to the pandemic, our professors were extremely understanding and accommodating. A bit unfortunate the school did not provide us with STATA packages and so we had to log into the school's system which ran slow sometime, but overall I felt the school still cared/supported its students in other areas (providing additional study equipment i.e. monitors, desks, etc.)... Master's Student: I’ve only just started so this may not be accurate. But so far I’ve felt welcomed especially as a student of color. My only challenge has been with funding for my program. Grad programs here don’t seem to be very well funded which hurts BIPOC and first gen students.... Read 2 reviews

Graduate Student: I really like the interdisciplinary nature of this school. You don’t only see nutrition from a health perspective, but also agricultural, political, economical, epidemiological, etc. The structure of classes are really systematic and organized. Also, there are many graduate student resources that are easily accessible. I highly recommend this school if you really want to pursue a degree in nutrition!... Read 5 reviews

Current Master's student: To provide some context, I am currently attending NYU in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development to earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The program is excellent in the sense that it is organized, comprehensive, and highly individualized as the class size is so small (capped at 40 per year). The program is designed to mold each student into well-rounded, generalized practitioners which sets a great foundation for us if we choose to further our careers with certain specialties. The professors of this program are without a doubt some of the most passionate people in the field and it shows during their lectures and how they interact with students. Professors highlight that while yes they are teaching us, they also learn from us with our new perspectives as well which evenly places importance on both the professor and the student. Overall, I would highly recommend this program to anyone pursuing a DPT degree.... Read 19 reviews

Alum: This is a program intended for people who have a purpose. Many enrolled already work full time and want a higher degree to boost payscale or in the case of teachers, allow them to teach higher education programs or develop new ones. For individuals seeking further education, this can be a great stepping stone, however be advised you need to work and seek your path, it will not be handed to you and there is little guidance without effort. Much of the course work is as described- intended for medical microbiology. Some classes are highly outdated and most geared towards academia not industry. I liked the ability to customize some of the coursework but was disappointed a dreadful career seminar I did not want to take was later removed as a requirement without compensation. I would have happily taken a credit even as an audit to learn. Be advised it can be challenging to develop relationships with professors and standout amongst large numbers of students online.... Graduate Student: I've had a great experience with NYIT so far in my graduate career. I'm enrolled in the College of Osteopathic Medicine. The environment and sense of camaraderie among the medical students is exceptional. Everyone wants to help one another succeed. The pathology professors and pharmacology professors are very knowledgeable. Most of the professors are willing to answer questions and help you learn. The mentorship in this school is remarkable. There are so many programs and opportunities where you are paired with professors, alumni, and upperclassmen. The safety on campus is great. We are one of the safest campuses in the nation. The only suggestions I have for improvement is limited study spaces given the amount of students, the delayed scheduling information release by administration, limited research opportunities, limited rotation sites in the surrounding counties, and lack of on-campus housing. Otherwise, great students, great location, great faculty, and promising future.... Read 16 reviews
