Doctoral Student: As an international student, it is quite easy to be feeling left out of social events and parties but generally colleagues are mostly very friendly and open-minded to learn about diverse cultural experiences from other countries. The faculties here are relatively young and prolific in producing works and they are always open to work with grad students whenever students reach out. The overall atmosphere is that grad students and faculties together are eager to make the program better and always cooperating to realize them.... Read 5 reviews

Current Master's student: Grad school has been so far very challenging yet rewarding. I live a 10 minute drive away, so I commute to Hartford and have a parking pass to a garage about a 7 minutes' walk away from the school. Outside of the classroom, I am still busy with assignments--making me quit my job, remain living at home, and entirely relying on student loans. I also am a caretaker for my disabled mother, so I have several home/personal responsibilities as well.... Read 3 reviews

Graduate Student: I've only been at U Col for one quarter, but so far so good! I appreciate that all of the services that are traditionally on campus are available online, like virtual meetings with advisors or even the writing center. There seem to be a plethora of resources available to students, and mandatory programs designed to elevate student engagement in these resources, which I found helpful and really set you up for success.... Master's Student: The program was informative and engaging engaging and provide a meaningful opportunities to engage in real world practices and educational leadership. The professors were knowledgeable and supportive throughout the program. I would have liked to see more preparation opportunities for the state certification exam that costs a lot of money to take. Overall, the Masters of Educational Leadership program that requires certification for graduation could offer a lot more opportunity to help graduate students be better equipped for the state leadership exam.... Master's Student: SPE is a wonderfully engaging community that is committed to doing fantastic work here and abroad. Whether you're going for creative writing or international affairs, there is a great sense of purpose and a level of connectivity that enables you to succeed. Not only will you feel welcome and supported, but you'll feel valued yourself. The school is really dedicated to promoting marginalized, radical voices. If you feel like you want to do great work out in the world that really takes the complex mechanisms of our reality into consideration, this is the school for you. In terms of what I'd like to see change, the cost of attendance can be quite steep, but the university definitely offers assistance with needed funds.... Read 3 reviews

Master's Student: The cohorts are all that matters. Your graduate school, especially when trying to get into business and management, cannot substitute the quality of your cohorts. Thunderbird is best known for its international pedigree, and I can see that it is not because of the school curriculum but because of the students attending this school. If you are considering business development, global expansion, or global organization, who you know matters more than what you know.... Read 8 reviews
