Other: I loved my time at GSPIA and at Pitt. My program was great and my classes were challenging but enjoyable. I had a great local internship that gave me a built-in network of contacts when I graduated. I found the GSPIA community to be close-knit too, maybe even more so among the alumni I met while I was a student. If I had it all over to do again, I'd pick GSPIA. Alum: I completed my master in public administration from the MPA program at CSUSB. The professors are experienced, educated, and different. Different in the sense in how they teach their classes in their own unique ways that truly brings your colleagues and yourself closer to work together on class projects and homework. Alum: In 2011 I took online classes to receive my initial teaching license and then returned in 2019 to complete my MSEd. Although not for everyone, online learning works well for me and therefore I feel my online classes prepared me for my current teaching role as well as if I had taken the classes in-person. Although the master's level classes are rigorous and require planning to accomplish all tasks within their deadlines, the professors understand that we are adults with careers, kids, etc. and therefore continually provide support to reduce misunderstandings and maximize efficiency. When completing my master's thesis, my advisor was helpful and accessible. Although it was difficult to get my school administrators (where I teach) to approve my research project in a timely manner, my Notre Dame professors and advisor typically finished their tasks within a day if not within hours.
