Graduate Student: I have had a great time here. It's really about the people. My fellow classmates are wonderful, brilliant, accomplished people and I am lucky to be here. The faculty are similarly great as are most of the physicians. I have very few complaints but here are 2 fairly big ones: 1. Research isn't emphasized enough. I was told many times first year not to worry about it "yet" but then was never told when I should worry about it. Luckily I found my own research projects but for competitive specialties, you can't act like research isn't a big deal. 2. Clinical grading is so subjective. I've gotten the exact same scores and received honors in one rotation but not another. I've gotten amazing comments but 4/5 scores or good comments but 5/5 scores. Also, having only Honors/Pass/Fail hurts people just out of the Honors range. No one fails. Yet those who barely try "earn" a Pass while those who perform well and try hard could get screwed by one tough evaluator and receive the same Pass.... Read 1 review

Current Doctoral student: Washington University is a great school with a great campus. It is easy to connect with other students and there are plenty of areas to study and do work. I attend the medical campus, with is the less-nice part of WashU but still very good overall. Its on the East side of Forest park so a less-nice area of St. Louis in general. The campus itself though is separated from the city, in its own little medical bubble.... Read 12 reviews

Current Master's student: The Keck School of Medicine's Translational Genomics Program is a rigorous and comprehensive program that provides students with a strong foundation in genomics research and its applications. The program offers excellent resources and facilities for students, including state-of-the-art laboratories and access to cutting-edge technology. The faculty are knowledgeable and supportive, and the curriculum is well-structured and challenging. there are some areas where the program could be improved. One concern is the safety of the area surrounding the campus, which can be a bit dangerous. It would be beneficial for the program to improve security measures in order to ensure the safety of students and faculty. In addition, the program currently does not offer on-campus job opportunities, which can be challenging for international students who are not eligible to work off-campus.... Read 7 reviews

Doctoral Student: It has been incredible! Super immersive and attentive to student's needs. You are able to take a of information from a variety of educators and their emphasis on generating a new generation of physicians with an outlook focused on holistically understanding patient's perspectives and needs makes for what I think is a well-rounded medical student. Doctoral Student: The best part of being in the Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology program in UW-Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health is the community. I love the diversity of endocrinology training my program has, as well as the tight-knit, family-style bonding we do over science. In my cohort alone, we are studying bovine ovarian cycles and luminal breast cancers all the way to diabetes and SSRI effects on bone density. SMPH does a great job of housing unique programs like my own, facilitating collaborations between labs, and providing great goals and standards for all students to learn and achieve together. Although expected with having a large campus and being in diverse fields, the worst part of my academic experience is being spread across campus from my friends. With our busy research schedules, these distances across campus stop us from studying together for classes as often as we should.... Read 2 reviews

Current Master's student: Overall the Medex program is great. The experience of being in the only Physician Assistant Program in Washington is pretty awesome. Diatactic year has a lot of up's and down's personally due to the accelleration of a program at this caliber. The diversity of the cohort exceeds my expectations, along with the instructors whom have vastly different backgrounds to share. The only complaint I have thus far, almost 2 quarters in, is that the program could be a little more organized i.e- Canvas: where most of our assigments and content is found online. Overall, the experience has been great!... Read 6 reviews
