Alum: Stanford has a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, much needed for students. It’s in a prime location that provides easy access to anything you need. I hear people have travelled from different places just to come visit the campus. The professors are great and they’re all rooting for your dreams and vision for a greater future. The library has an extensive amount of resources that any student/alums can access to, which gives each researcher great resources to further their paper and/or research. This school has everything you need to build a solid foundation in your future career. Stanford gives the “power of education” a new name.... Read 1 review

Master's Student: Throughout my year at HGSE, one thing I heard over and over again was that you come to the Ed school for the people. This is overwhelmingly true. Professors are extremely passionate about their discipline and have incredible experiences to share with you. They make themselves readily available before and after class as well as during office hours. You can discuss lecture material and assignments, but I took the opportunity to learn more about their professional journeys, i.e. how they ended up being professors at Harvard. Peers are similarly passionate and each comes from diverse backgrounds, as teachers, executives at NGOs, and researchers. I feel privileged to have studied alongside them.... Read 7 reviews

Current Master's student: To provide some context, I am currently attending NYU in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development to earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The program is excellent in the sense that it is organized, comprehensive, and highly individualized as the class size is so small (capped at 40 per year). The program is designed to mold each student into well-rounded, generalized practitioners which sets a great foundation for us if we choose to further our careers with certain specialties. The professors of this program are without a doubt some of the most passionate people in the field and it shows during their lectures and how they interact with students. Professors highlight that while yes they are teaching us, they also learn from us with our new perspectives as well which evenly places importance on both the professor and the student. Overall, I would highly recommend this program to anyone pursuing a DPT degree.... Read 19 reviews

Doctoral Student: As a full-time staff member, part-time student, the academic rigor has been challenging yet fulfilling. The first year is designed to get a doctoral student acclimated to the level of academic rigor expected, familiar with the "lay-of-land" and introduction to research and the higher education landscape. I took a long gap between getting my masters and now pursuing my doctorate degree, so ramping up to handle the level of research needed to include the amount of reading required, and levels of presentations/activities required was a learning and balancing curve.... Master's Student: My experience with Wheelock College has been limited since I have not officially started at the University. I have limited experience with the school and faculty. In terms of the counseling department, and the admissions team have been extremely helpful and overall thorough. The faculty seems quite kind and open as well. Wheelock college is definitely a welcoming and unique place for one to take opportunities.... Read 5 reviews

Alum: My experience at The George Washington University School of Education and Human Development was great. My advisors worked with me to develop a schedule that worked with my full-time work schedule, they provided me with a mentor who mentored me and coached me through my first 2 years of professional teaching while I was enrolled in their education program. They also continue, more than 10 years later, to provide me with professional development opportunities at very low or no cost. Great school, great peoople.... Read 9 reviews

Graduate Student: Overall, it’s pretty good to be a grad student at TU in A&S, but that is changing rapidly. The faculty care about us and the other students do as well, but neither the Board of Trustees nor the President nor the Provost (now acting President) actually care about this particular group of students. They’d honestly rather A&S disappear to make way for “industry jobs”. If your goal is to pursue Psychology, then TU is a solid option. Other degrees housed under A&S? I’d look elsewhere just to be safe.... Read 1 review
