School of Nursing - Oregon Health & Science University
Niche User: Beginning nursing school during the COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging; however, the OHSU SoN has adapted well to accommodate for the new safety regulations. OHSU SoN is an environment that supports and encourages diversity; however, at times, the instructors (on the La Grande campus specifically) seem to be less educated on some diversity topics, which is demonstrated in class lectures. It would be beneficial for instructors to undergo more diversity training so they are able to educate their students about these topics more thoroughly. The tuition and materials required for the program are quite expensive for students, yet there have often been times where lab supplies are old, broken, or unusable, and faculty have had to bring in their own supplies to make up for the lack of supplies provided by OHSU. For example, the hospital beds and mannequins in skills lab need to be replaced. Overall, OHSU SoN is a great learning environment and offers many great graduate programs.
