    Works Here: Beautiful campus and lovely small-city culture with tons of fun activities and things to do. Wonderful amenities for students and employees. Great fitness centers and programs. Awesome healthcare for employees and students. I have both gone to school and worked full-time at the University of Iowa, and it is truly one of the best places to attend/work in the Midwest. The Iowa City area is inclusive, diverse, and full of intelligent and friendly people. I honestly wouldn't live anywhere else in Iowa.

      Graduate Student: Iowa State is the best of both worlds. Strong and challenging academics coupled with passionate and kind individuals. I think ISU is especially good at being a "well-rounded" institution. Interdisciplinary work is encouraged, and the community is very supportive. I've also had some excellent professors!

        Graduate Student: The entire student body and all faculty meditate twice a day and this creates a uniquely warm and peaceful atmosphere on campus. It's something intangible but very real, everyone comments on it. My parents noticed it when they were here. The cafeteria is organic, mom-GMO. Everything is geared toward healthy lifestyle and making the most of our mental and physical potential. MUM is not typical, it's far superior! The dorms are all single rooms, not shared, so there's privacy. (Uncommon) Faculty aren't paid much: they're here because they believe in MUM's mission of developing the whole person, through meditation (TM) and wholesome routine. I've loved my years here and feel uniquely qualified from this school to go out and succeed in any environment, because I'm using more of my mental and physical potential!
