Master's Student: The best part of the program is being able to interface with world class professionals who are interested in supporting students and connecting students to opportunities during and after the program. The worst part is the intensity of the workload and the fact that the core curriculum can often include assignments which are tedious and time sinks.... Read 8 reviews

Current Master's student: Although, I have not started my graduate program yet, the application has been simple and straightforward. I also received news of my acceptance in a timely manner. I hope to have the opportunity to begin my classes for this upcoming spring semester. The faculty shows to have amazing credentials and look forward to learning from them. Also, the networking opportunities seem to have great potential at this university and program. I have attended a couple of webinars and the potential students all seem to come from different age groups, experiences, backgrounds, and jobs. I look forward to working with them and to learn from their prospectives on subjects that will be discussed in the program. I will follow up with more reviews as I go through the program, in order to help guide potential students look to further their education. Overall my experience has been terrific and the admissions team has be very transparent.... Read 22 reviews

Alum: NYU has a strong brand name internationally, and in my honest opinion it remains among those few private institutions where you can still get the return on your investment for your education. I secured a Research Assistant Technician job for two years directly after graduating from GSAS, and the combined experiences enabled me to get into medical school after reapplication. For "city kids", New York University is the school for you. New York City is your campus, which may not be for everyone, especially those who want the traditional 'college quad' setup like at an Ivy League school or small liberal arts school. I was able to commute to school from Brooklyn. Bobst Library is like a church to me. Thank you, NYU, for helping me get a 2nd chance at becoming a doctor! I went from a failed Princeton premed to a successful University of Rochester School of Medicine alum who has gone on to becoming a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon in solo private practice.... Master's Student: CCAS does a really great job of integrating different programs so that you can meet every so often to talk about cases that you may encounter together out in the real world. The graduate center is very helpful and I love their appreciation days for graduate students (who doesn't love free coffee and snacks to help power through the day?)... Read 2 reviews

Master's Student: The opportunities for learning are tremendous. The reputation of the school and its graduates is astounding. The diversity of opportunity and the lack of a cookie cutter expectation is extremely valuable especially when trying to find your own individual path forward to a rewarding career and in my case, a second career.... Alum: The University of Iowa typically treats their grad students quite well. The faculty are dedicated to student success and go out of their way to ensure you learn what you need to, cater to your interests and skills, and have the financial security to continue your studies. Iowa pays humanities grad students well and the health insurance is both stellar and cheap. The environment is friendly and supportive rather than competitive, which was hugely important for me. I wish things could have been more interdisciplinary. The other issue and of a growing concern is that the University board and new president were heading in a direction that wasn't student friendly or focused (or faculty/staff for that matter). As I graduated (2018), there were increasing discussions of cutting benefits, assistantships, tenure packages.... Read 3 reviews
