Current Master's student: The academic program is rather good at the University of Houston. I have three social work classes and they are robust and full of great information. The choices of classes at UH is very good and allows students to follow their academic path and find classes that fit their program. The advisors at UH are on top of things and are always able and willing to help. I would honestly say that UH is a great place for academics!... Read 3 reviews

Master's Student: The academics are alright. Core classes are honestly a waste of time, and should be avoided. Courses focused on your actual degree are so much better!... Read 2 reviews

Master's Student: This is the first year that Texas A&M University Texarkana has offered the MSW Program. The program has been informative and engaging. The program is currently offered online due to COVID19 restrictions. However, it feels as though the students are given busy work at times. We have assignments that are not graded and are seen as "participation" grades. At the graduate level, it is preferred that work be graded and not "participation" based.... Read 2 reviews

Master's Student: The professors in the Psychology program are phenomenal. My first course at Stephen F. Austin State University was about how to be a good graduate student. This course alone prepared me with the skills I need to succeed. On a research level, most of the professors are interested in publishing a study in the foreseeable future, which was a massive draw for me since I want to go to a doctoral program at some point. On a personal level, the professors are very open and understanding of people with different backgrounds and philosophies about life and accommodate each person’s needs. I do not feel like I made a mistake by coming to SFA, and I would apply again for a chance to be admitted. Hack ‘em Jacks!... Read 5 reviews
