Master's Student: For a completely online semester due to the pandemic, our professors were extremely understanding and accommodating. Master's Student: I really enjoyed my time at Sanford School of Public Policy. I liked that the class size was small. It allowed me to connect and get to know a lot of my classmates very well. It also meant that I could form great relationships with the teaching staff as well. ...I also loved our building and the whole scene at Duke. I loved that there was a bus that could pick students up for free after 7 pm and drop them at their apartment if it was close enough to campus. There was also a free bus that I used every day back and forth to school. ...It was also really exciting to be in a school that took sports very seriously and did great in sports especially in Basketball. The energy on campus was always so electrifying when Duke and UNC met at the Cameron Stadium. Graduate Student: I have had a great time here. It's really about the people. My fellow classmates are wonderful, brilliant, accomplished people and I am lucky to be here. The faculty are similarly great as are most of the physicians. ...I have very few complaints but here are 2 fairly big ones: 1. Research isn't emphasized enough. I was told many times first year not to worry about it "yet" but then was never told when I should worry about it. Luckily I found my own research projects but for competitive specialties, you can't act like research isn't a big deal. ...2. Clinical grading is so subjective. I've gotten the exact same scores and received honors in one rotation but not another. I've gotten amazing comments but 4/5 scores or good comments but 5/5 scores. Also, having only Honors/Pass/Fail hurts people just out of the Honors range. No one fails. Yet those who barely try "earn" a Pass while those who perform well and try hard could get screwed by one tough evaluator and receive the same Pass...Read 1 Review

Master's Student: I really love the cirriculum that is taught at Carey Business School. I am currently enrolled in a Masters of Science in Healthcare Management program and I believe Johns Hopkins continues to distinguish itself not only as an academic instiution that places it's emphasis on research but by taking a multidiscpilinary approach in it's instruction. For example, this has particularly enabled me to gain further insight in some of the more complex issues of healthcare which require a broader purview whereby Johns Hopkins taught through modes of business and legal frameworks that help students grasp the realm of healthcare holistically. This is one of the many reasons that I recommend the program. Although in project base learning students do learn through Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the School of Medicine.
