All the students are at different levels of skills and knowledge coming into the program, but everyone is very warm and friendly. Current Master's student: I think the fact that you can have this program be completely online gives students (like myself) a better chance of succeeding. I go into this program having a job during the week and other responsibilities that would make going to a physical campus challenging. Having this be an online course allows me to do it all and on my own time and my own way. I feel that this course is going to prepare for me future jobs ahead. I enjoy writing and applying topics to my background, as well as participating in discussions via forum message boards. One disadvantage I've found is that group projects can be difficult in a virtual setting. It can be challenging to coordinate schedules, communicate effectively, and collaborate on tasks when you're not all in the same physical space and don't even know one another. Doctoral Student: I completed my Master of Arts in Servant Leadership in 2020. The program was amazing! Excellent professors, lively discussions with dedicated classmates. Opportunities to practice what we were learning. There was only one "bad" part of the program and that was graduation was cancelled because of the Covid pandemic. I worked so hard and was looking forward to walking across the stage to receive my diploma in front of family and friends, but instead I had to watch at home on-line alone. This is not a program in which you fail as all the stakeholders make it a point to know each student and cooperate with any limitations. The professors are helpful and very knowledgeable, plus there are ample opportunities to join sports and activities. The city is big enough that there's a lot to do, but small enough to feel safe.
