Graduate Student: I am a first year graduate student in the Masters In Christian Studies (Online Program), but I do plan on enrolling in the Masters In Social Work (Traditional Program) as well. I am grateful chose to have my graduate school journey here! Even though do not live on campus right now as some campuses within this University many there are online options! Professors make every effort to support students academically went from 2.2 cumulative in undergrad to a 4.0 GPA (yes you will be challenged here but the skills you learn here are irreplaceable they make sure students are prepared beyond class. Never seen a student body or faculty be so supportive before here. Master's Student: After 5 years of being a Registered Nurse, I decided to go back to college and pursue a Master's degree. Lipscomb has made this process easy, especially since I have been out of school since 2018. Lipscomb's Physician Assistant program has a lot of great attributes. The first being the cadaver lab, I believe this is an invaluable experience for PA students and not all programs offer this. Secondly, Lipscomb has their accreditation, which is important for taking the exam to become a Physician Assistant once out of school. The program requirements once accepted were clear and concise, they also laid out all the programs details such as cost and how to apply for financial aid and loans. The worst part of this experience is the cost of graduate school, their prices are comparable to other Physician Assistant programs, but it is still a lot of money t have to take out in loans. Ultimately, the education I am receiving here is incredible and I am excited to see what the future holds.... Read 21 reviews

Current Doctoral student: As a graduate student at MTSU, I have greatly enjoyed and found directly applicable value in the programs that I have studied. Most of the professors have real-world experience in the fields in which they teach. My professors were easily accessible and very helpful. Plenty of research opportunities were made available. I didn't live on campus, however, the campus facilities are first-rate and even the food services are great. The library services, both physical and online, are excellent and they offer specific library assistance to graduate students, which made some of the research I was doing much easier. The administrators are available if needed, and the tuition was so affordable that the return on investment for both of my graduate degrees is excellent. There are over 700 current research projects being conducted in the College of Graduate Studies. I would strongly encourage anyone to consider MTSU as an option for their graduate and undergrad education needs.... Read 59 reviews

Master's Student: The university is beautiful and close to downtown Nashville. The faculties and students are nice at the graduate level. I do not recommend getting a bachelors there or living on campus. The campus housing is not in good condition and there are too many rigid rules at the bachelors level. However, people have more freedom and independence at the masters level. The professors are very knowledgeable. Most have experience at Vanderbilt and/or own their own private practice. It was nice to be able to work full time and still go to school. I was able to complete my courses on the weekends and in the evening which greatly helped me achieve my goals. It was nice being apart of a friendly community and having professors that cared about your success after graduation. For people who are religious it’s nice to be able to speak freely about religious beliefs and attend church on campus. The religious part is mandatory for all undergraduate students and optional for graduate level students.... Read 10 reviews

Master's Student: I'm from Southeastern Kentucky, and I went to high school at Harlan Independent High School. We had 39 students in my graduating class. I went to college at Eastern Kentucky University for two years, and then I transferred to Middle Tennessee State University to finish my degree. I graduated high school with a 3.9, and honestly, I felt like school was so easy. I tried to maintain my GPA in college and finished my first semester with a 4.0. My second semester was completely different. I've been gifted with the ability to understand math at different levels, and that also made me arrogant. My math professors would email the class with important reminders for an upcoming test, and I made sure to be present for those classes. I had an "A" in each class at the time. I was sitting in the back of each class during our final, and each of my professors refused to let me take my final because of my attendance. This dropped my GPA down to 1.0. Other: When I was a police officer in 2019-2022, I discovered that I had a passion of trauma care during calls of service I experienced. I applied to nursing school when meeting many nurses during my law enforcement experience. What intrigued me about the Austin Peay State University (APSU) School of Nursing program was the students who had past military experience. These new nurses insured me the program adequately prepares nursing students for the real world. During my psychiatric rotation in my second semester in nursing school, I found that the relationship with Austin Peay and the collaboration of other hospitals was exquisite. Austin Peay has a great reputation. This is one of the best parts about the program including the in-depth training. The worst experiences were being able to maintain a healthy school life balance in the APSU program. This last semester I had the courage to reach out to my professors for help.
