Master's Student: Vegas is a weird place to live, but UNLV was overall a great experience for graduate school. The department I was in was relatively close knit and mostly supportive, and had a good number of international students as well.
No experience with on-campus housing, but there are a TON of affordable apartments and houses in Vegas, many within walking/short bus or drive distance. Parking on campus was the normal expensive pass, but never really had an issue finding a spot in the garage I used on the north side of campus.
Campus itself is pretty nice although I didn't use or see much of it outside of my department building. Gym was nice.
Lots of good experience as a TA as well, with the chance for lower and upper division courses, field courses, and online during the summer for some extra money. No resources or 'training" for being a TA like some universities do, though.
