Current Master's student: I'm in the first cohort going through the revamped MSW online program. When I applied, the program was 2 years; now it's a 3-year program. Despite my disappointment in having to attend an additional year, it's been a worthwhile experience. The program is greatly focused on social justice, which will serve each of us well, regardless of what path we choose after graduation. The program thoroughly explores multiple aspects of the profession, including ethical/professional standards, research, theory, anti-racism, practicum (experience), and micro/macro work.... Alum: MSUB is laid-back but still promotes a friendly learning environment. It's easy to find ways to engage with campus life, and the staff and faculty do a great job of making students feel welcome and helping them navigate their studies.
