Master's Student: The programs through the Forestry College, here at Mississippi State, are absolutely wonderful. There is a multitude of professors and avenues for not only furthering your education, but also seeking out assistance. I feel fully supported and motivated in my program to exceed. My only warning to future students would be to seek out advice and comments from previous students prior to deciding a major advisor. As I've been told by the graduate coordinator "Some advisors are student-centric, while others are research-centric," so you need to determine what works best for you. Additionally, counseling is offered at no-charge to students which is a MAJOR plus! I love MSU and I wish I would have attended this university for my undergraduate degree. HAIL STATE!... Master's Student: I had the best advisor at Ole Miss. Her name is Valerie H. Some of my classes were hybrid and I enjoyed them immensely. I loved the social interaction with the other students. I am much older than your normal student. I am changing my career at the age of 63 and would like to see our college entice other older adults to go back to college. Some feel like they are too old but you are never too old to finish or get that degree. I am looking at the future with the potential loss of an income; therefore, I have to come up with a better solution of supporting myself. That decision was going back to college. As you get older, you are wiser and have more ideas for writing papers and adding to classroom discussions. I found the younger students interesting and I also became their mentor which I liked and encouraged. The experience has made me want to go into teaching or advising now. I thought I would never want to teach but with college students, they are there to learn and not to babysit.... Read 46 reviews

Master's Student: So far, my experience has been great! Most all of my professors have been counselors in their own or shared practice, so they have practical knowledge of what they are teaching us. My professors have also helped me identify the right course of action for being licensed in my home state, which was so helpful! I hadn't even gotten that far into my program yet and they were already helping me out!... Read 35 reviews

Alum: Working on my MATL was one of the best experiences of my career! I’m a stronger teacher because of my training, and the connections and relationships that I fostered with my colleagues and professors have been priceless to me, both professionally and personally. Niche User: Belhaven University’s Online Biblical Studies program has been a wonderful experience for me. God has led me through interesting classes with many dedicated professors and given me the opportunity to grow in His Word. I’ve learned from Him, the Bible, the textbooks, the professors and even the other students themselves. I have learned that the Bible is a tool and an instrument for living. Using it to measure and navigate current day events, thoughts, feelings, and experiences has provided me with a wealth of wisdom and encouragement. And the more I know the more I realize there is still so much that I don’t! I am so thankful for God leading me to Belhaven! “Scriptures are shallow enough for a babe to come and drink without fear of drowning and deep enough for a theologians to swim in without ever touching the bottom" St. Jerome... Doctoral Student: I am a full time student at Delta State University. I am enrolled in the DNP program there. This is my first year. The campus is beautiful and clean. The parking can be hard to find at times. The majority of students and faculty members are very pleasant and knowledgeable. The various departments on campus are kept neat and the staff members are friendly. I feel very welcomed, respected, and appreciated at Delta State University. I feel that my voice, opinion, religion, and uniqueness matters and is respected. I love the fact that Delta State is a very diverse university with various different minorities. We are more like family than classmates and students. I am very thankful for been given the opportunity to attend such a wonderful university. My overall experience thus far has been great! I hope for many more wonderful experiences throughout the remainder of my continued education there.... Read 13 reviews

Master's Student: I was in the JSU graduate online accounting program. My experience with this program had its ups and downs. Our curriculum was embedded with the CPA Becker Review, so our studies and work centered around the CPA exam and how to navigate the test in the best way possible. This definitely helped us as students since most of us were planning on taking the exam post-graduation. We would watch several lecture videos, practice simulated exams, and have Zoom meetings to review practice questions with our instructor. The downside of it was that it was very fast paced and if you aren't disciplined enough, you will fall behind. Because we are moving so fast it is quite difficult to grasp a full understanding of all of the material learned throughout the course.... Read 42 reviews

Current Master's student: The public health program has been a great experience. I have had a great time working with the professors. The classes are kept small, and it is easy to get ahold of them with any questions. Professors make sure that everyone has understanding of the class material. The only issue that I have had with this program is that I feel like sometimes the tests can focus on reading comprehension rather than learning the actual material, but I feel like that will be the case in any master level program.... Current Master's student: The Master's program only offers three classes per semester. Which seems like a way to milk students for money when they could be finishing faster. Also, the fact that physical classes are only offered between 6 pm to 8 pm. If the courses were just offered online it would promote a faster learning process. Half could have been offered online, and the second half of the degree can be physical for hands-on practice.... Read 3 reviews

Master's Student: During my senior year of high school, I often thought about where I would attend college. After thinking long and hard about it, I decided to further my education at Alcorn, but that quickly changed because I knew I wanted to be around a smaller crowd. I knew choosing an HBCU would not only allow me to learn more about my culture, but it would surround me with other individuals who looked like me, and why not pick Tougaloo. At Tougaloo, I knew I would be coming into an environment where students would challenge one another. Attending an HBCU is essential to me because of the power of networking. Throughout my collegiate career, I’ve connected with many people worldwide who have become friends. Every time I step on campus, I feel like I belong and I’m protected. Choosing an HBCU was one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I will forever be grateful for the knowledge my university has instilled in me.... Read 2 reviews

Master's Student: My academic experience has been challenging , successful. I am almost within the graduation stage to become an aspiring educator. The program that I am enrolled in is called the Masters of Teaching educational alternative program. The program is for students who do wants to teach, but undergraduate degree is not within the field of education. Therefore, the Masters of Teaching program was created for those students. The program does have an Curriculum Academic Program that must be followed. My best part of the program is that one of the criteria for completion of the program was not implement for secondary educators due to the teachers shortage and the pandemic. The worst part of the program for me is that I have to retake courses that I have passes due to Mississippi Valley State policy changes. Additionally, money and funding for the program has already being utlized once.... Read 8 reviews

Master's Student: Wesley Biblical Seminary is an excellent school for anyone seeking to further their understanding of the Bible and the church. My courses in the Old and New Testament covered, not only Scripture, but also the historical and social considerations of the period in which the books were written. The coursework was challenging but not impossible. The professors are very concerned for how well their students perform and were readily available to answer any concerns that I had. I would highly recommend Wesley to any student seeking to further their understanding of Scripture and seeking to further their understanding of the calling of God upon their lives.... Read 3 reviews
