The faculty is amazing, they have guided me incredibly well throughout the graduate program thus far, and always make sure that I know they are here for me whenever I have any questions or concerns. I am much more confident because of the support system I have built here in comparison to my undergraduate years. The professors and TAs I've had in my time here also have the same qualities, making learning an enjoyable, yet developmental process. Current Master's student: The classes are a great! The school is very particular about having a class where students can relate directly with their professors, so the max per class is usually between 30-35. The professors are well experienced and adept with current trends, so it is quite easy to understand what they are teaching. Overall my experience has been good and this is down to how the professors have handled learning across the courses that I have taken. You must be ready to work for your grades. Master's Student: There was a strong focus on inclusivity, equality, and policy change. Many class materials (ex: textbooks, articles on research studies) were outdated, therefore lacking inclusive terminology and relevant data to our current political environment. Abolitionism, activism, and advocacy were promoted. Enlightening lessons were provided based on antioppressive and antiracist ideologies. I appreciated the emphasis on community engagement and macro level issues that impact current and future clients. There was a somewhat racially diverse student population. Overall, Augsburg University's Social Work Graduate Program was effective in educating students on activism and advocacy but many of the class's curriculums were not updated (beyond the year 2015 for publishing) and social identities of students and populations being studied were not well respected.... As an older student, some of the more challenging parts of my experience have been learning some of the technical aspects of producing videos and audio presentations in acceptable formats. Master's Student: The application process to get accepted was very thoroughly laid out for me. My classes are all online, so I am able to create a work-life balance. There are advisors available in several departments that use a "No wrong door" policy when I ask clarifying questions. My professors so far have all been fair and responsive. Getting hooked up with internships when living out of state is probably the most stressful part of going to this school. However, my advisor in that area is also very responsive and helpful. Getting the required textbooks are reasonable and available for rent online in PDF format. Professors have not yet required the newest of the new textbooks and I haven't seen any conflict of interest in textbook requirements. It's reasonably affordable and very convenient. I compare homework assignments with my peers where I live and there is a definite difference in the quality of work that is expected of me as compared to people going to school online at campuses near me.... Master's Student: Although I have not started my Masters program at Minnesota State University Mankato, I did complete my undergraduate degree there as well. The best part about my experiences so far at Minnesota State would be the people, both in my cohort and professors, that helped me become the educator that I am today. They helped to push me to my maximum potential. The worst part about my experience would be the time of COVID. That was a learning curve for everyone, especially during my student teaching. Current Master's student: I enrolled at Concordia Saint Paul in the Summer term 2 2021 in the bachelor's program for human resources. 100% of my classes for asynchronous. All of my professors provided material sufficient and provided plenty of information to complete assignments. Professors were wonderful at communicating and allowing open and private conversations regarding school and offered help for personal result in late assignments such as family emergency or technical difficulties if needed. All professors were very understanding to circumstances that would having the ability to do my assignments on my own time made it convenient to do my other daily duties of everyday life. I had a great relationship with my professors and other staff that assisted in financial aid, tuition, library, academic advisor, admissions. I have no complaints about my program or the school. Current Doctoral student: The professors are all very supportive and want to help students be successful. They will work with you to make sure that your dissertation is of high academic quality, and they are very understanding of the fact that most of us who are in the program are also working full time professional jobs while going to school. I have felt supported and encouraged throughout the process. I would recommend this program to others who are considering a professional degree in education. I especially like the online option, with the one week on campus residency. I feel like this is the perfect blend. We are able to get to know our cohorts through the face to face meetings, while still having the convenience of online learning. The program is rigorous, but not impossible. I am currently about halfway through the program, and I feel like it is a possible journey. Master's Student: Metropolitan State University lives up to their core value of "knows and can apply" as an intrinsic part of education. The professors generally go out of their way to see students succeed. The non-traditional student body is one of the strongest assets. Diversity (socio-economic) is important to me as a Black and Indigenous multi-ethnic cis-woman and Metro has that. The Individualized undergraduate and graduate program is the best experience I could have hoped for going back to school as an adult with parental responsibilities. There is no other school that would provide the opportunity for me to study exactly the cross-disciplinary fields I want and need to study. The availability of both online and on campus courses is plentiful and helped me graduate on time and with as little debt as possible while earning a Master's degree. Niche User: I recently transferred to a different school to pursue a different major, but my two years here were amazing. I know it's cliché, but Bemidji really did feel like a 2nd home to me. It's a small town in the middle of Northern Minnesota, but that seclusion creates a lot of culture and hospitality. Though I will admit, my first two months as a freshman were a bit rough. You will find there's a lot of kids there who don't take college too seriously, but if you keep an open mind you will meet great new friends. Biking, Fishing, Canoeing, and so on are available for you, Bemidji is a typical tourist spot for Minnesotans. There are so many beautiful paths and trails and the town is a joy to walk though. It's not your typical college experience and may take time to adjust, but looking back I wouldn't have gone anywhere else. The winter is probably the biggest complaint I hear, but it gave me 5 months to ski, icefish, and play hockey. To sum it up: It's affordable and fun! Go Beavers!... Read 9 reviews

Master's Student: I am currently enrolled in MSc Information systems security at St Cloud State University. When I resumed, I had to take two perquisites in Linux Administration and Database as I came from an Engineering background. In my first semester, I took Computer Forensics and ethics where I learnt all about software's used in retrieve hidden data and solve digital crimes. The course was interesting and practical as we worked in the Forensics labs with tools like Autopsy and FTK Imager. My next semester courses were on Database Application security where I learnt all about triggers, policies and procedures. I also took course on Security policy and IT Risk Managment where I learnt all about the advanced development of security policy in line with the legal requirements, systematically analyzing risk, contingency planning. Other: My experience has been amazing. I have completed my medical coding and billing certificate program and I am now enrolled in the AS Business/Accounting program. I am wanting to continue my journey so that I can open my own business and also work in the healthcare field that I love. The courses are configured to work with me and not against me. I am currently an A student, and I am striving to keep it that way. However, if I cannot find a scholarship to help me pay for the remaining 14 classes than I am going to have to withdraw and that will absolutely crush me. I did not graduate high school, so I went back to get my GED in 2017, 20 years after I had been out of school. I received my GED and I just graduated from a university.
