Alum: I earned my MPA from American University in 2009. The university has a consistently nationally-ranked top MPA program due to its rigorous curriculum, and experienced and accomplished faculty that draw a diverse group of students. As a graduate student who worked full time I did not participate in student life per se but I observed it was an active campus and there are opportunities to be involved with public and international affairs due to the school’s programs and location in D.C. I formed some close bonds with other grad students and truly grew through the experience. I highly recommend the university and this degree program for students interested in public service, nonprofit sector, and policy. Other: I was recently accepted to Howard University’s PA school and will start classes in August. My experience so far at the university has been pleasant. I'm excited to attend a university known to help foster students to become leaders in their fields. My experience with the faculty during my interview was better than expected. They made a stressful experience turn into a welcoming environment. Coming from a smaller city, I think it will take some time to get used to driving and navigating the city. The traffic in the area can be overwhelming at times. Luckily, there are other modes of transportation readily available. The limited graduate housing also presents a challenge. Renting an apartment in DC is extremely expensive. This may cause me to live further away from the school in an area where I can afford to. Altogether, I believe that knowledgeable, personable, and experienced faculty will help me to become a competent, empathic, and passionate PA. I look forward to starting in Aug... Read 42 reviews

Master's Student: During a pandemic, I was worried that school would be lacking resources or that the classes would suffer. This was not the case with Catholic University! My classes were even more helpful and amazing than I could ever imagine! The teachers were ready and able to teach in a virtual setting! In every class I was provided with large amounts of resources and support! The class work was always useful towards my future! The homework and other projects always allows me to dust off my creative muscles and open my eyes to other forms of learning and teaching! I am more prepared not only for more class work but for more professional opportunities! I am ready and excited to face other academic and professional obstacles because the tools I have been given so far in all my classes! Each semester is a new adventure full of chances to learn! Niche User: My overall experience is very great and I love the faculty, the advisors and everyone there. Its a great school as they provide many different outlooks. They are great about helping you achieve your goals while trying to make it financially affordable as possible. They work with you all the way to the very end. I'm very grateful to be apart of such an amazingly nice diverse culture and school program. So my overall experience has been nothing less of amazing and plan on to finish my college life and career here thru this school. Current Doctoral student: This is the best experience that I've had at the doctoral level. I transferred from a local doctoral program in DE to the DC campus at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology for the Ph.D. in business psychology program - consulting track. This was the best decision I ever made regarding my graduate studies. The program chair is top-notch professional, knowledgeable, and customer service oriented. The professors are superb. You can tell that they are passionate about teaching and about the students learning. My dissertation chair is competent, a great communicator, a trusted advisor, and culturally aware. I mentioned these much needed factors because I didn't receive them at the former university. Nonetheless, I would recommend this institution to anyone interested in studying psychology....
